What Drives Us

So why do we do what we do?

Well, through evidence-backed research, conversations with industry experts, and continuous data collection, we know that…

  • Youth are not adequately prepared for the workforce.
  • Female-identified and gender-diverse youth face additional barriers that contribute to the gender gap.
  • Data indicates that it will take over 165 years to achieve workplace gender equality.

THAT’S NOT OKAY.

The Research

Studies show that female-identified youth in particular experience a dip in self-esteem during adolescence. This timing matters: confidence, communication skills, the ability to set and/or achieve goals, and even career expectations are examples of key assets that develop in these formative years.

Through life-skill programming, ShEvalesco works to accelerate the development of self-efficacy. Self-efficacy is a measure of our belief that we can achieve and overcome, and it is a known predictor of personal and professional success.

At ShEvalesco, we say: you CAN.

You CAN bounce back from failure.

You CAN speak directly and assertively.

You CAN feel confident to negotiate a wage.

You CAN advocate for yourself, and for others.

You CAN feel empowered to manage your money.

We’ll show you how.
